Natasha You have set out the case for the Triple Bottom Line for Vans very well. I was impressed by their shift to sustainable cotton in their products with the BCI. Do you think their alignment to acknowledging the Triple Bottom Line increases or decreases their dollar profit, and why?
Hello Mr Sutton! Thank you so much! I believe implementing this concept in their business does indeed increase their profit. By focusing on the wants and needs of their consumer base and the wellbeing of the planet, they create appeal for their company - for example, climate change has become an increasingly relevant topic over the past few decades, and even more so in the last couple of years. We want to know the companies we buy products from aren’t playing a part in destroying the planet. So by actively making an effort to convert to more sustainable materials and methods, they prove they care and simultaneously build up the reputation of their company. A good reputation means good publicity, good publicity leads to customer appeal, customer appeal leads to more customers, and more customers means a higher profit.
Just wanted to pop in and let you know your presentation has been sent company wide and you've got everyone talking! Your creativity, work ethic and passion have jumped out of your slides and we are proud to have you as part of our checkerboard family :)
We've gotten your email address on the sly so keep an eye out for that notification from us.
Kia ora Natasha. Wow! What an impressive presentation and you have connected with Vans ... this is so exciting! I look forward seeing what happens next. Keep up the great work, this is a wonderful example of authentic learning for our pupils across the fence. Gary Roberts Hornby Primary School
Tena koe Natasha, This is such a wonderful blogpost that really showcases how connected learners share. I have been sharing your blogpost with some of the students I work with at Mairehau High to help them see the power of sharing learning. You certainly have a real knack for graphic design and I enjoyed looking through your presentation. I was impressed by Van's Green Sole Products and the way they think about where they are sourcing their materials from. I look forward to hearing how this particular journey proceeds. Well done, Mark Maddren Manaiakalani Outreach
Kia ora Natasha. The power of the blog that makes the world such a small place eh? I really love your learning based on things that appeal to you and are so relevant.
