Mass
The mass of an object is the a measure of an object's resistance to acceleration, sometimes also called "Inertia". For instance, a mountain has more mass then a rock. Mass shouldn't be confused with the related but quite different concept of weight.
A large mass, like Earth, will attract a small mass like a human being with enough force to keep the human being from floating off into space. This is called "Mass attraction"and is another word for gravity.
We can see mass when weighing two different objects using a scale.
