Potential Energy
Potential energy is when an object can store energy as the result of it's position. For example, A marble is storing energy when it is at the start of a course. This stored energy of position is known as potential energy. Similarly, a bow is able to store potential energy because of it's position.
An object may have the capacity for doing work as a result of its position in a gravitational field (gravitational potential energy), an electric field (electric potential energy), or a magnetic field (magnetic potential energy). It may have elastic potential energy as a result of a stretched spring or other elastic deformation.
You can see this when someone is about to throw a ball or before a plane takes off.
